My journey from utter helplessness to independence

Day 2622: The Gift of Time

The most precious present you can give anyone is the gift of your presence– that’s what I am reminded of.

It’s 5 : 40 PM on day 2622 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Nahum 1:3 and spend time with family.

Today I was reminded that the most precious present you can give anyone is the gift of your presence. Be present so you can be a present.

Day 2620: The Emma Watch for Parkinson’s Disease

Any gadget is only as good as its most useful feature– that’s what I know

It’s 10 : 36 AM on day 2620 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  Proverbs 15:18 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 606 only $7 894  more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I stumbled upon the Emma Watch this watch is unique in that when people with Parkinson’s Disease put it on the tremors in their hand virtually disappear I was amazed by this watch and what it could mean for someone in my family who has Parkinson’s Disease. Watch a video about the Emma Watch below:

Day 2619: Life is Like a Cerebral Palsy Foot Spasm

Life is like a Cerebral Palsy foot spasm you just have to breathe through it – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 2 : 18 PM on day 2619 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read John 14:2-4 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 606 only $7 894  more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday morning as I was still lying on my bed one foot just started to spasm I could literally feel the blood vessels at the bottom of feet constricting all I could think through my excruciating pain was breathe, breathe, breathe and after what felt like an eternity and many deep breaths my pain was gone I will never ever tell my parents or doctors what happened yesterday because they’ll put me on a hundred different medications for something that happens once in a blue moon I prefer just to breathe through it the pain I go through reminds me of my aliveness and how much I actually want to be alive . Life is much like a Cerebral Palsy foot spasm you just have to breathe through it and know pain doesn’t last forever.

Day 2618: Pink’s Wise Words That I Strive To Live By

“We don’t say things we don’t mean and we don’t say mean things.” –Pink

It’s 11 : 12 PM on day 2618 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Psalm 23:6 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 606 only $7 894  more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Recently Pink (the singer) said in an interview that she tells her 6-year-old daughter “we don’t say things we don’t mean and we don’t say mean things” I just loved that imagine what the world would be like if we all just decided to live by those words.

Day 2617: World Kindness Day

“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind, and the third is to be kind.” ― Henry James

It’s 1 : 54  PM on day 2617 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read 2 Kings 17:38-39, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to  Captain Cactus   who donated $25  which brings the total raised to  $4 506 only $7 894 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today is World Kindness Day let’s all be kind to one another today and every day especially when it’s hard. Happy World Kindness Day thank you for being kind enough to read my random ramblings.

Day 2616: “Love to Hate’ by Prime Circle

Life without music would truly be a mistake – that’s what I know

It’s 1 : 24  PM on day 2616 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Colossians 1:13-14, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to  Aunty Laissa  who donated $25  which brings the total raised to  $4 556 only $7 919 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Recently I heard “Love to Hate” which is a song by South African rock band Prime Circle there’s something about the song that I absolutely love. Listen to “Love to Hate” below:

Day 2615: Believing the Best About Humanity

Believe the best in humanity even when most of the evidence points to the contrary – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 32 PM on day 2615 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  1 Chronicles 16:35 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 556 only $7 944  more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I’m choosing to believe the best in humanity even though most of the evidence points to the contrary I truly do think whatever we believe about the world will be reflected back to us so even when it’s hard I will choose to believe the best about humanity till kingdom come

Day 2614: Why I Don’t Need Respite From My Beautiful Life

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and very little engagement with stakeholders – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 1 : 18  PM on day 2614 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Titus 2:11, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to  Stan Faryna, author of Francesco Augustine Bernadone   who donated $50 and Debbie Gleason donated $18 yesterday  which brings the total raised to  $4 556 only $7 944 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

This morning I came across a well-meaning organization distributing wheelchairs worldwide (which is awesome truly it is) and offering “Family Retreats to provide respite for those with disabilities and their families” having a disability is not something a weekend away can fix it’s my life I don’t need a break from it i just need support as I try to live my life to its fullest potential (sometimes I think these NPOs organizations working in the disability sector don’t even bother to engage with the people they are trying to help because if they did they would understand that people with disabilities need access to education and skills training not “respite” because while a family retreat may be fun people need education and skills to make a meaningful contribution to the world).

Day 2613: Life’s Meaning and My Christmas Wish #NishasXmasWish

Life’s meaning is not in the acquisition of possessions but rather in the distribution of one’s blessings – that’s what I know.

It’s 12 : 59 PM on day 2613 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read 1 John 2:23 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 488 only $8 012 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday with less than two months to go till Christmas I decided that in lieu of Christmas gifts I would ask everyone to help me fix Clubfoot – so far I’ve raised enough money to help MiracleFeet provide about 17 kids with Clubfoot treatment just need 33 more generous people to donate $250 each in the next 46 days to surpass my goal by Christmas. If you can please donate ($250 would be great but even if you can only give less than that I would  still appreciate it from the bottom of my heart really)  https://www.crowdrise.com/50newfeet .
