My journey from utter helplessness to independence

Day 2693: Making Promises and Keeping Them

Make only a few promises but keep all of them– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 4 : 31 PM on day 2693 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read  Philippians 3:10-11, go shopping with my sister – i cannot believe we spent R3000 on clothes (almost enough for clubfoot treatment for one child) but i’m not going to feel guilty about my privilege I do my best to help every life that I can –   and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 926 only $5 574 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I wanted so badly to make a promise I knew I couldn’t keep but I refrained and decided that from that moment I decided in life I would make  only a few promises and keep all of them.

Day 2692: Embracing Imbalance

There is no such thing as  balance in life– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 12 PM on day 2692 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Joshua 10:25  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 926 only $5 574 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today as I worked and felt so guilty for not spending time watching Gossip Girl with my sister who’s only home for a few more day I realized there’s no such thing as balance in life I’ve just decided to be 100% present in whatever I’m doing.

Day 2691: Risk Everything BE KIND

Risk being a nuisance to be kind – that’s my message to the world

It’s 12 : 27 PM on day 2691 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 34:8  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 926 only $5 574 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I was reminded that it’s worth the risk of being a nuisance to be kind (in the past even when I was calling people to be kind and loving I always worried that I was being a nuisance but now I have thrown cautious to the wind life is too short to refrain from kindness because I’m afraid of interrupting something). Risk everything be kinder than necessary it is very necessary.

Day 2690: Children and Me

They are different ways of getting everything I want – that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 12 : 11 PM on day 2690 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 3:16   and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 926 only $5 574 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

This morning as I looked at a picture of my niece (cousin’s daughter) and I, I  realized that I could still love children and be a part of children’s lives without ever having children or adopting them (I don’t know if that will ever be enough for me but it could be).

Day 2689: I’m Approved and Accepted

My aliveness is a giant seal of approval and acceptance from the one who made me– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 25 PM on day 2689 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Isaiah 40:29 ,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   A HUGE thanks to  Anonymous who donated $50   which brings the total raised to  $6 926 only $5 574 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today I was feeling unimportant until I realized that my aliveness is a giant seal of approval and acceptance from the one who made me and the same is true for each of you

Day 2688: Life Lesson in a Milkshake Tasting

May you have the courage to try different milkshakes– that’s hope for the world.

It’s 12 : 16 PM on day 2688 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Philippians 4:13   and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 876 only $5 624 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday I tried Rum & Raisin Milkshake in keeping with the promise I made to myself that I would try things that I  often don’t  and having  previously tried Peppermint Milkshake,  Oreo Milkshake, Mocha Milkshake, Coffee Milkshake and Strawberry Milkshake I have come to the conclusion that I have outgrown milkshakes (my poor father has spent so much money on milkshakes that I didn’t even finish needless to say he was not impressed ) sometimes you have to try everything to realize that the things on the list re not what you want and that maybe you re destined to forge your own path (yes, I realized all that from tasting milkshakes)

Day 2687: Visiting Breath of Life in East London, South Africa

The meaning of love is not to possess – that’s what Michelle Rielly reminded me.

It’s 1 : 35 PM on day 2687 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 29:11   and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 876 only $5 624 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Two days ago my sister and I were blessed to visit Breath Of Life – a place of safety for infants in our city whose parents are unable to take of them (to-date 125 kids have been loved and looked after by Breath of Life and 18 000 women in crisis have been counselled  by Breath of Life councillors ) – Breath of Life is able to accommodate six infants at a time though when we were there only three were present (Allister, Alec and Aaron, all under the age of one) the kids are taken care of by House  Parents Michelle and Andrew Rielly and the lovely ladies who employed by Breath of Life. Before I arrived there I thought I would be most enamoured with the infants (I LOVE babies they represent hope and possibility) but when I got there I couldn’t stop watching Michelle with the babies I saw in her so much love and gentleness and I could not imagine loving other human beings so much knowing I would eventually have to hand them over to their adoptive parents it would absolutely break my heart but being in Michelle’s presence has reminded me that the meaning of love is not to possess. Thank you to Breath of Life and to the Rielly family for their extraordinary service to our city it is noticed and much appreciated. Day 2686: It’s Not About Doing It’s About Being

Life is not about what you can’t do it’s about what you can do– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 10 : 23 AM on day 2686 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Proverbs 18:10 ,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   A HUGE thanks to  Dessy Bo who donated $50   which brings the total raised to  $6 876 only $5 624 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Yesterday I was at a very special place and before I go to places like that I usually think what can I do there but yesterday I realized that sometimes it’s not about doing anything it’s about being there to show that you care.

Day 2685: Positivity and Me

Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 11 : 49 AM on day 2685 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read  Psalm 119:114  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 826 only $5 674 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today I was reminded that what we put out is what we get back if we went positive lives than we should speak positively, act positively and share positive content with those around us

Day 2684: How to Never Truly Fail

All I can do is my best I can’t control what other people do or don’t do– that’s what I keep being reminded of.

It’s 11 : 39 AM on day 2684 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read  Habakkuk 3:19 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $6 826 only $5 674 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today I was reminded that all I can do is my best I can’t control what other people do or don’t do (I find comfort in knowing I do my best every day and because of that I will never truly fail no matter what the end results of my actions are).
