My journey from utter helplessness to independence

Day 2714: The Opposite of Fear

The opposite of fear is faith more than courage – that’s what I have to keep reminding myself

It’s 2 : 28 PM on day 2714 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Zephaniah 3:17,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   A HUGE thanks to Ciya and Riya who donated $50  which brings the total raised to  $7 681 only $4 819 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Recently I read somewhere the opposite of fear is faith this quote has come at the right time for me I’ve been afraid a lot lately and I’ve realized I’m most afraid when I rely on my humanness instead of relying on God’s divinity which we are all connected to by faith.

Day 2712: Turning my Crappy into Happy for MiracleFeet #50NewFeet

Turn your crappy into happy – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 1 : 07 PM on day 2712 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Zephaniah 3:17,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   A HUGE thanks to Anonymous who donated $25  which brings the total raised to  $7 506 only $4 994 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

As you may know I will be undergoing minor surgery on my hand and foot on February 22nd it is what it but I’d like to make something good come out of it so I’m asking all those who can to donate to my 50 New Feet campaign benefiting MiracleFeet (we only need $4 994 more to treat a total of 50 kids with Clubfoot) https://www.crowdrise.com/50newfeet

Day 2711: A New Dawn in South Africa #ZumaResigns

“It’s new dawn, it’s a new day and I’m feeling good.” – Nina Simone

It’s 1 : 20 PM on day 2711 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read John 3: 16, support the Water Ambassadors programme launch  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 481 only $5 019 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Last night Jacob Zuma (South Africa’s then President) finally resigned I feel like a cloud has lifted off the entire country he was corrupt, selfish and just generally without honour I’m so glad he no longer has the power to disgrace the Republic of South Africa which I have always been proud, honoured and humbled to call my home. May this be an end of an error and a beginning of an era. Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika

Day 2710: Proud Moment

Kids grow up when we are not looking– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 1 : 09 PM on day 2710 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Corinthians 13:4, read my brother’s project and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 481 only $5 019 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

This morning I was reading my Life Orientation project  and I came across this nugget of wisdom  I feel if I don’t respect those who don’t respect me I will feel as if I am on the same level as them which is something I don’t want as this will deter me  from my path of trying to build a positive relationship the boy is only seventeen and the fact that he already knows that absolutely BLEW MY MIND, made me SO PROUD and made me wonder how I missed the fact that he has grown up.

Day 2709: Look to Grow

Look to grow from every experience – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 1 : 58 PM on day 2709 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Isaiah 54:10,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   A HUGE thanks to Beverly who donated $50   which brings the total raised to  $7 481 only $5 019 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

After yesterday and hearing that I will be undergoing toe and wrist surgery on February 22nd everybody has been extra to me my dad bought my favourite rusks (that’s what he does when he can’t fix things he buys things I appreciate it sadly he can’t buy me a body with fully functional parts), my mom is being a  tad more clingy and even my brother is less himself than usual meanwhile this morning I found myself waiting for them to get out of the house so I could cry in peace without making anyone feel powerless (I seldom cry in front of my family especially when they are powerless to fix whatever’s happening – imagine being without the power to help that which you  brought into the world I’m not going to let my parents see just how much my life hurts instead I’m going to suck it up and choose to grow from all of life’s experiences).

Day 2708: My Life is Irony

My life is irony – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 2 : 20 PM on day 2708 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 4:2, go see my orthopedic surgeon, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 431 only $5 069 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I found out that on the 22nd February I will have surgery on the big toe of my left foot and on my right hand I’m not exactly jumping for joy but I’m grateful we can afford the surgery. How’s that for irony: I’m helping to fix feet meanwhile I myself have foot issues (God has a sense of humor).

Day 2707: Time: The Age-Old Excuse

Time is just an excuse people use when they don’t want to do something – that’s what I’ve learned.

It’s 1 : 17 PM on day 2707 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 John 4:7 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 431 only $5 069 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday I became a part of something then wondered where I was going to find the time to do everything but it matters so I’ll make the time.

Day 2706: Happy Birthday Daddy

“One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” – George Herbert

It’s 1 : 00 PM on day 2706 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read John 13:34    and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 431 only $5 069 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today is my father’s birthday and although I know that public declarations of affections make him uncomfortable life is short and without him I literally wouldn’t be here so I’m going to make him uncomfortable just for today.  Happy birthday daddy thank you for teaching me that there is magic in small acts of kindness. Your desire to empower inspires – I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you cannot turn anybody in need away I’m me because of the way you choose to live (I still remember a gardener showing up at our gate one morning and even though there was nothing for him to do you invented things for him to do just so he wouldn’t starve that day and you didn’t want to just give him the money because you wanted to give him the dignity of earning his wage [ as long as I live I will never ever forget that morning it touched my heart in such a profound way]).

Day 2704: The Reason Resistance Exists

Resistance exists to prove to you how much you believe in that which you believe in– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11 : 00 AM on day 2704 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read    and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $7 431 only $5 069 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far).

This morning I was thinking back to something that happened yesterday and I realized that resistance exists to prove to you how much you believe in that which you believe in
