It’s 5  : 48 PM on day 934 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on, brush my teeth,  feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, pray, read Leviticus 14, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself brown rice and curry for lunch, practice typing with both hands, watch TV, try to clean myself in the bathroom and stretch my hamstrings.

Today I needed to go the bathroom only everybody was outside so a lot of screaming was required to get someone to help me in moments like that you sort of think if I could walk I could do this myself that’s the worst part of having to use a wheelchair you feel trapped inside your body and you can’t explain that feeling to people who aren’t in your position because they’ve never experienced it.
