Day 3009: Trevor (@TrevorNoah) Chats with His Grandma About Apartheid and Tours Her Home

“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. “ – Marcus Garvey

It’s 12: 26  PM on day 3009 since i started blogging and I managed to pray and do some work

Recently I watched a conversation that Trevor Noah had with his Grandma  Koko it was funny, heartwarming and it reminded me how lucky I am to live in post-apartheid South Africa. Watch “Trevor Chats with His Grandma About Apartheid and Tours Her Home, “MTV Cribs”-Style”below:

Day 2535: Born A Crime by Trevor Noah

“People thought my mom was crazy. Ice rinks and drive-ins and suburbs, these things were izinto zabelungu — the things of white people. So many people had internalized the logic of apartheid and made it their own. Why teach a black child white things? Neighbors and relatives used to pester my mom: ‘Why do this? Why show him the world when he’s never going to leave the ghetto?’

‘Because,’ she would say, ‘even if he never leaves the ghetto, he will know that the ghetto is not the world. If that is all I accomplish, I’ve done enough.”

― Trevor Noah, Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood

It’s 12 : 38 PM on day 2535 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 have breakfast  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $3 125 only $9 375 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Yesterday I finished reading Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah  the book is set just at the end of Apartheid and the beginning of Post-Apartheid South Africa it’s about race, faith, crime, family and South Africa but most of all it’s about an incredible woman’s love and determination to help her son break out  of the cycle of poverty (and she did- the boy who once had to eat Mopane Worms because there was no money for food now lives in a 10 Million Dollar Penthouse in New York City) I would recommend Born A Crime to all South Africans and anyone in need of hope.

Day 1842: Congratulations Trevor Noah – New Host of The Daily Show

“If this comedy thing doesn’t work out, I’ve always got poverty to fall back on.” – Trevor Noah

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1842  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read John 8,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, have breakfast, learn one new thing –Electric eels can produce strong electric shocks of around 500 volts for both self defense and hunting.–  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign – $5 147 raised so far I;m hoping to get to $5 250 before October 3 (i’m choosing to  believe it has already happened I just can’t see the numbers yet God is conspiring for me to succeed 🙂 ),

Two days ago South African comedian Trevor Noah debuted as host of The Daily Show and according to what I’ve seen and read it went swimmingly. Congratulations Trevor I’m so happy for you and proud of you. Watch “The Daily Show – Trevor Noah Continues the War on Bulls**t” below:

Day 1662: The internet, Trevor Noah and immortal mistakes

The internet immortalizes a human beings every mistake – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 12 : 00 PM on day 1662 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,    read Ezekiel 22, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feature, learn one new thing – Eating both plants and animals, meerkats are omnivores. Their diet mostly consists of insects, which they sniff out using their enhanced sense of smell. They also eat small rodents, fruit, birds, eggs, lizards, and even poisonous scorpions –   feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich  for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign–  Simon Magid who has donated twice before donated $20 yesterday (thank you Simon you’re AWESOME 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $2 578.

Recently South African comedian Trevor Noah became more famous than he already was when it was announced that he would be new host of The Daily Show and with his somewhat newfound fame came detractors who found some tasteless jokes that he tweeted a few years ago and proceeded to label him sexist and anti-semitic  which made me realize that whatever I post on the internet could have an impact on my life years down the line needless to say I am now infinitely more careful about what I post online.

Day 1661: Congratulations Trevor Noah

“Comedy is acting out optimism.” – Robin Williams

It’s 12 : 10 PM on day 1661 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,    read Ezekiel 21, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feature, learn one new thing –  Koalas are not bears. They are not placental or ‘eutherian’ mammals, but MARSUPIALS, which means that their young are born immature & they develop further in the safety of a pouch. It’s incorrect to call them ‘Koala bears’ – their correct name is simply ‘Koalas’–   feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich  for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 558 raised so far – and read 10 Things Grateful People Don’t Do.

Two days ago I found out that South African comedian Trevor Noah would be replacing Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show I couldn’t be happier for him finally the world will know that South Africa is a country bursting with talent. Congratulations Trevor Noah.
