Day 2051: The Reason For My Smile

“If you smile when no one else is around, you really mean it.”  – Andy Rooney

It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 2051 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read John 9, have breakfast, learn one new thing – The first ever breakfast cereal was Granola, invented in the USA in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson, a convinced vegetarian, who was the operator of the Jackson Sanitorium in the state of New York. –  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $5 540 only $710  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

This morning as my dad was transferring me from my bed to the wheelchair he caught me smiling and asked why I was smiling (I was remembering a random act of kindness I read about yesterday) a genuine smile is permanently plastered on my face which surprises most people considering my condition of course it sucks royally that I can’t walk but there are plenty of things I can do what a waste my life would be if I focused on the one thing I couldn’t do and ignored all the things I could do.

Day 1735: Smiling through every day

In life all of us will have good days, bad days and days that are just okay the trick is to smile through every day – that’s what I keep  realizing

It’s 12 : 09  PM on day 1735 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Micah 3, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,   feed myself bran  flakes with banana for breakfast, learn one new thing –Paleontologists and mother-daughter team Meave and Louise Leakey have made significant contributions to our understanding of human origins, continuing the legacy begun in 1931 by Louis S. B. Leakey with his discoveries of ancient fossils in Tanzania’s Olduvai Gorge. –  and promote my Educate Generations campaign– Ronald Rip and Beverly Bernhardt donated $40 and $60 respectively yesterday (thanks Bev and Ronald) which brings my total raised to $3 145 🙂

Today I woke up feeling as though I had been run over by a truck thankfully I feel slightly better and have decided to smile through the day headache, fatigue and all.

Day 758

Fake it till you make it– that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 2 : 22 PM on day 758 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to stretch my hamstrings, brush my teeth, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice typing with both hands, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feed myself a peanut butter sandwich  for breakfast and watch TV.

Today has not been the best of days it looks more like winter than spring, my digestive system has been giving me all sorts of issues oh well at least I’m alive and I have my family I’m going to smile and be grateful even though I have enough reasons not to. Do you often fake it till you make it?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
