Day 2489: Your Power Lies Within

“If you’re nothing without the suit you shouldn’t have it.” – Tony Stark, Spiderman: Homecoming

It’s 11 : 20 AM on day 2489 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Isaiah 6:8,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $1 750 only $10 750 more to raise  by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Yesterday I watched Spiderman: Homecoming and although I thought the movie was childish Tony Stark said something to Peter Parker that changed my life If you’re nothing without the suit you shouldn’t have it I realize it’s not my wheelchair that makes me special but rather how I am choosing to use it, who I am and who I am becoming while sitting on it.

Day 2266: Words and the Power We Give Them to Hurt

The words of others don’t have the power to hurt you unless you believe them– that’s what I’d like everyone to know.

it’s 12: 06 PM on day 2266 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   read Psalm 100: 4, go to church – today the sermon was about Joseph and how sometimes the right thing to do is not always the right thing to do –     and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today somebody said something that taught me that the words of others don’t have the power to hurt me unless I believe them (know yourself and choose not to believe the hurtful things people say about you).

Day 2139: The Power of Words

Use your words carefully they have the power to heal or to hurt – that’s my message to myself and others.

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 2139 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Thessalonians 3:16, learn one new thing – The eyeball is the only organism which does not grow from birth. It is fully grown when you are born. When you look at a baby’s face, so see mostly iris and little white. As the baby grows, you get to see more and more of the eyeball. –   have breakfast,  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –  raised $7 050 only  $5 450 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far  🙂 ) .

Today I was thinking about the power of words while I don’t hate anyone the hurtful things people have said to me are etched in my mind as a reminder that every word we say has the power to heal or to hurt.

Day 1370: Do you give people the power to make you feel bad about yourself?

Nobody can make you feel bad about yourself unless you let them – that’s what I realized this morning.

It’s 1  : 29 PM on day 1370 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth, feed myself  bran flakes  for breakfast, read Psalm 57,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, go visit family   and promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 83%

This morning something happened that made me realize nobody can make you feel bad about yourself unless you let them. Do you give people the power to make you feel bad about yourself?
