Day 2753: Delegation

Delegation is an essential part of leadership – that’ve what I’ve learned.

It’s 2 : 26 PM on day 2753 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read  Numbers 14:19, promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –raised  $13 334 only $5 415 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018 – did something very special with my parents and brother – i was happy that my brother came with us it’s very important to me that he learn not only math, science and biology but kindness and the value of others – and have lunch.

Today I was part of something that made me realize that to lead is not to do everything but rather to do everything that matters and that having help doesn’t take anything away from my individual effort.

Day 2506: 10 Life and Leadership Lessons from Nelson Mandela

Man’s goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished. – Nelson Mandela

It’s 12 : 19 PM on day 2506 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read Romans 8:38-39 , and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –   Yesterday  Stan Faryna, author of Francesco Augustine Bernadone  donated $50  (thanks so much again Stan ) which brings the total raised to $2 280  only $10 220 more to raise  by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Recently I watched a video which was sort of a recap of the top 10 life and leadership lessons from Nelson Mandela I loved it because every one of those lessons are still applicable today. Watch “Nelson Mandela best ever speeches” below:

Day 2492: The Job of a Leader Is…

The job of a leader is to set a plan with a purpose in motion then continuously thank the people who are helping to make the plan work– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 15 PM on day 2492 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Hebrews 12: 2 have breakfast,     and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $1 750 only $10 750 more to raise  by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

This morning I was reminded that the job of a leader is to set a plan with a purpose in motion then continuously thank the people who are helping to make the plan work which is a good thing to be reminded of because often we think a fancy title and a large salary automatically makes one a leader (it doesn’t –leadership is propose-driven action not a title or money).

Day 2391: Thank you so much to the true leaders of South Africa

South Africa is blessed with some leaders of character – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 10  PM on day 2391 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Romans 10: 17 , have breakfast  and learn a new word – Definitions for plisky 1.Scot. and North England. a mischievous trick; practical joke; prank. 2. Scot. and North England. mischievous; playful.

Yesterday amid divisions in the country I was heartened to see some leaders who were unwilling to compromise their values for a job title and money. Thank you so much to the true leaders of South Africa who stand up for what is right even if it means losing their seat (quite literally).

Day 2031: Actions, Titles and Leadership

Actions and not titles make leaders – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 11 PM on day 2031 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 8,  learn one new thing –Dogs belong to the taxonomic family Canidae (canines) which is divided into two tribes: those related to wolves (Canini) and those related to foxes (Vulpini). A couple of canine species lay outside these two tribes, but hyenas are not canines.- have breakfast, hang out outside and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – Beverly donated $25  (thanks so much  Beverly your ongoing support means a lot to me always :) ) which brings the total raised to raised $4 146 only $2 104  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Yesterday some things happened in South African politics that made me realize yet again that actions and not titles make leaders.

Day 1622: What does it mean to lead?

Being in a leadership position does not necessarily make one a leader – that’s what I have realized.

It’s  12 : 17 PM on day 1622 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to   brush my teeth, pray,    read Jeremiah 39, feed myself egg with bread for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign – Anonymous donated $20 yesterday  (thank you SO MUCH Anonymous I don’t know who you are but if you’re reading this please know that I am sincerely grateful for your support 🙂 )    – which brings my total raised to $1 945 only $555 more to raise to reach goal  –  publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Before aspirin was produced, ailing patients chewed the bark of the white willow tree (from which aspirin is derived) to help alleviate fever and pain. –     and   continue promoting the campaign – $1 945 raised so far I am SO GRATEFUL for everybody’s support I feel like all the blessings my parents have racked up over the years are being passed on to me I feel incredibly blessed (God I don’t deserve all the good things you have given me thanks for giving them to me anyway I will continue trying to be a good human being).

Recently I’ve realized that being in a leadership position does not necessarily make one a leader to lead is to have a vision, take action, be accountable for one’s actions and inspire others to live up to their full potential.

Day 308

A good leader has the power to unite his party while a great leader has the power to unite the entire country – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 8: 44 PM on day 308 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, spend sixty-seven minutes tweeting about South African charities in honour of International Mandela Day – I wanted to go and help out my community but I couldn’t since both my parents were at work so I did what I could for seven different charities 🙂 – read Using Social Media for Charity: @Nisha360 is making a difference on The Nicky Blog and Causes I Promote on Monologues of a Dreamer only stopping to watch Dr. Phil and feed myself a hotdog for brunch – both of them are good posts and I’m not just saying that because I’m featured in ’em :)– tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck – watch TV, feed myself tapioca and fish curry for dinner, watch some more TV and brush my teeth once more.

This morning I was watching an extended broadcast of Morning Live – South Africa’s most popular breakfast show – which focused on what people around the country were doing to commemorate International Mandela Day and as I was watching it I realized that more than anything else he’s done Nelson Mandela’s greatest legacy is the oneness his name brings to the South Africa and the world. Are you a good leader or a great one?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360

If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
