As a part of International Volunteers Day and KFC South Africa’s #AddHope my Superhero Catherine Constantinides and her friends got to visit Sizanani in Soweto to interact with the youngsters who receive warm meals thanks to the R2 that you so selflessly donate every time you visit a KFC here in South Africa.

Day 2959: #1120Under5 and KFC’s Add Hope Campaign

add hope

In all that you do there are opportunities to add hope– that’s my message to the world

It’s 11 : 47 AM on day 2959 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work

Today I found out about the launch of #1120Under5 – 1120 children under 5 die of malnutrition in South Africa annually so KFC South Africa has enlisted the help of South African celebrities to help drop that stat by raising awareness about child malnutrition and urging people to donate to KFC’s Add Hope Campaign. I’ve been a long-time supporter of the Add Hope in fact, I’d say sometimes I choose to eat at KFC because I want to add R5 to every meal which will go towards feeding children. South Africa, let’s join the #1120Under5 Movement donate to KFC’s Add Hope Campaign .

Day 2643: KFC’s Add Hope Campaign, Recognizing Opportunities and Knowing Your Values

Opportunities to do good are everywhere you just have to be observant – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 2 : 15  PM on day 2643 of my journey towards independence and I managed to watch TV with my sister,  pray,  read Genesis 49:9-10, have breakfast, go with my parents to drop my sister at the airport – she’s off to a wedding for the weekend – and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 976 only $7 524 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday my sister, my brother, my niece (cousin’s daughter) and I were at KFC and I once again noticed the “Add Hope” signage – in every KFC in South Africa customers have an option to pay extra to help feed hungry kids – and my sister turned to me knowingly and asked how many kids do you want to feed? to which I replied three – one for every Varghese present – sometimes you don’t have to go out of your way to make a difference sometimes the opportunities are right in front of your eyes but in order to recognize them you need to know who you are and what your values are (I know I am a Varghese and I know I stand for kindness, generosity, compassion, honesty, loyalty, justice and fairness and I carry that with me every moment of every day)
