Day 3132: All Lives Are Equal

The root cause of all the world’s problem’s today is the idea that some lives are more important than other lives – that’s what I was reminded of today

It’s 10: 43 AM on day 3132 since I started blogging and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and work on my 28 For 28 Campaign benefiting charity:water – thanks to Athira’s $60  donation we’ve  raised $1626 of $28 000 with 74 days to go

Today I was reminded that the root cause of all the world’s problem’s today is the idea that some lives are more important than other lives. All lives are equal let’s start treating people as such.

Day 2980: Keeping my hope alive

To be hopeful in a world that seems devoid of hope is the ultimate sign of optimism – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 2: 40 PM on day 2980 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray read a Bible verse and do some work

Recently I stumbled across the headline “Bus Driver Rapes Schoolgirl” in that moment I felf like a part of me died but despite it all I’m determined to believe that humanity is more good than bad I refuse to let a few humans ruin my positive view of humanity.

Day 2957: I’m going to be Alright

I’m going to be alright in this world– that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 10 : 08 AM on day 2957 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work.

Yesterday while thinking about all the people who have graciously stepped up to help me during moments that I’ve lacked the ability to do something I realized that I’m going to be alright in this world because there really are more good people than bad in this world.

Day 2615: Believing the Best About Humanity

Believe the best in humanity even when most of the evidence points to the contrary – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 32 PM on day 2615 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  1 Chronicles 16:35 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 556 only $7 944  more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I’m choosing to believe the best in humanity even though most of the evidence points to the contrary I truly do think whatever we believe about the world will be reflected back to us so even when it’s hard I will choose to believe the best about humanity till kingdom come

Day 2475: Humanity Is Good

Humanity is more good than bad– that’s what I want the world to know

It’s 10 : 17 AM on day 2475 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read James 1: 20, have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – yesterday Sharon D Agostino  (Founder of  SayItForward) donated $500 and Simon Magid donated $25 (thanks  Sharon and Simon) which brings the total raised to $1 335 only $11 165 more to raise in 358 days to help 50 kids with clubfoot (won’t be easy but again i say very doable with God in me) .

Today I realized that being in the philanthropy space gives me a front row set to the best of humanity admittedly all of us are a bit of a mess of contradictions but I’m telling on this planet at this time walks some of the kindest, gentlest and most generous people ever I’ve been privileged enough to see it, feel it and often be on the receiving end of it.

Day 2469: Humanity and Our Eventual Return to Love

All of us are made in love and eventually we return to love – that’s what I realized

It’s 1 : 07 PM on day 2469 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Matthew 6:21 have breakfast, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – Priyachechi donated $25 yesterday and Anonymous donated $25 today (thanks to them both) which brings the total raised to $150 only $12 350 more to raise in 364 days to help 50 kids with clubfoot (it won’t be easy but we can do this i know it).

Recently I realized that all of us are made in love and eventually, no matter how distracted we get along the way, we return to love I think there comes a time in everybody life where we sort of realize money, power and fame are all nice to have but meaningless unless you use them to live in love and in service of others because in the end love is the only thing we can both leave behind and take with us.

Day 2440: Thoughts on humanity, fame and love | Shah Rukh Khan

“The people of this ancient land embraced me in their limitless love, and I’ve learned from these people that neither power nor poverty can make your life more magical or less tortuous. I’ve learned from the people of my country that the dignity of a life, a human being, a culture, a religion, a country actually resides in its ability for grace and compassion. I’ve learned that whatever moves you, whatever urges you to create, to build, whatever keeps you from failing, whatever helps you survive, is perhaps the oldest and the simplest emotion known to mankind, and that is love. ” – Shah Rukh Khan

It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 2440 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   have breakfast, read Acts 4: 31  and learn a new word – Definitions for moggy
British Informal. a cat.

Yesterday I watched a Ted Talk by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan aptly titled “Thoughts on humanity, fame and love” I have watched his movies since forever but until I watched this Ted Talk I never knew how enlightened and genuinely funny he was. Watch “Thoughts on humanity, fame and love | Shah Rukh Khan” below:

Day 2260: Why I Hate Nobody

“Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.” – Will Smith

it’s 12: 15  PM on day 2260 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Psalm 95:2-3  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far )

Today I was searching my heart and I realized I hated nobody I may be hurt by the words and actions of some people but in the end I’m even grateful for them because they teach me something I didn’t know before I don’t even hate murders, rapists or terrorists because I know that their actions are the reflection of their inner-brokenness.

Day 1943: Destiny and Humanity

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson

It’s 9: 46 AM on day 1943 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Corinthians 9 and learn one new thing – On January 18, 1778, the English explorer Captain James Cook becomes the first European to discover the Hawaiian Islands when he sails past the island of Oahu.

Today I came across the Emerson quote above and I found it to be so true people have this idea that we have a predetermined destiny which is ridiculous we create our own destinies by the choices we make and the chances we take.

Day 1419: Evolving technology and the apparent disintegration of humanity

“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” – Albert Einstein

It’s 1  : 20  PM on day 1419 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray, feed myself  bran flakes with banana for breakfast, read Psalm 107 and back up my files – the laptop I’m using right now is on its last hinges so I figured I better back up everything I need I’m not going to ask my parents for a new laptop because it’s a waste of money some people don’t even have food to eat I’m not going to ask my parents to spend R6 000 on a laptop when I could just use my brother’s laptop while he’s at school.

Today I realized humanity hasn’t evolved nearly as much as technology has just because we can share everything on the internet doesn’t mean we should some things should be kept sacred.
