Day 2608: Why I No Longer Lie

If you’re proud of who you are in the present you won’t feel the need to lie about what you did or didn’t do in the past – that’s what I know.

It’s 1 : 18   PM on day 2608 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Romans 15:13 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 388 only $8 112 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Recently I was asked a question in an interview and my usual answer to that question was an automatic lie but this time I intentionally chose to tell the truth because I  was genuinely proud of who I was and knew that everything I chose to do and not do made me the person I am today

Day 1798: What is failure?

Failure is an event not a person so you can never be a failure – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 48 PM on day 1798  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Mark 3,    publish my Disability of the Day feature,    learn one new thing – Monolithic [mon·o·lith·ic] adj. 1. Massive, solid, and uniform: “The monolithic cathedral.” 2. Large and unchanging: massive, uniform in character, and slow to change. – have breakfast, read Yellow Zebras! Hello, over here! Hello!  – a great blog post by Tim Fargo about how it pays to be different in business –    and  promote my Educate Generations campaign – $4 541 raised so far (thanks everyone   :) ).

This morning remembering the article I read yesterday titled Catherine Constantinides Shares Her Wisdom it occurred to me that most people, unlike Catherine, are afraid to fail so they don’t even try but really failure is nothing to be ashamed of everybody who has ever succeeded has failed at least once failure is that which we learn from to do better next time.

Day 1745: Success, Failure and Work

How successful you are is directly proportional to how hard you work – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 25 PM on day 1745 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Habakkuk 3, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    learn one new thing – With an area of 40,852 square miles, Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean. The island is mostly flat, with the Sierra Maestra Mountains anchoring the southeast.–    feed myself egg with bread  for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 145 raised so far so grateful  – and hang out with my sister.

Yesterday evening  seeing me work someone I love said to me you’re always playing on the laptop morning, noon and night I said nothing and continued working I know that how successful I will be is directly proportional to how hard I work.

Day 1618: My failure to be kind

There are few things you’ll regret more in this life than failing to be kind when you have the opportunity to do so – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 12 : 10 PM on day 1618 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to watch the New Zealand vs. Scotland Cricket World Cup match,    brush my teeth, pray,    read Jeremiah 35, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – The firefly is not actually a fly, but a beetle –   promote my Educate Generations campaign – $1 900 raised so far   – feed myself a peanut butter sandwich  for breakfast and   continue promoting the campaign –  $1 900 raised so far SO GRATEFUL 🙂

Recently my parents and I were going from one place to another in our car and this young boy standing on the side of the road asking for money caught my eye I felt compelled to look him in the eyes to acknowledge that he mattered as a human being then I asked my dad if we could give the boy some money and my dad would have too only we didn’t have change and my dad was afraid that the boy would use the money to buy drugs so we just drove away it’s been days since I saw the boy but I will forever remember that day as one of the few days in my life that I failed as a human being I failed to be kind. Have you failed to be kind when given the opportunity to do so?

Day 282

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. – Sir Winston Churchill

It’s 7: 47 PM on day 282 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself French fries and a mango sandwich for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – eleven days and counting without a donation – watch TV, tweet about my campaign – no luck –  feed myself rice and curry for lunch, email Salt & Necter – I figured since they wrote about Oprah’s final show they would be willing to write about someone who was inspired by Oprah 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for dinner, watch some more TV and brush my teeth once more.

Two days ago I received an email in response to my sponsorship request (if you have no idea what I’m talking about refer ‘Day 277’) and it read in part Please may you send through a formal letter with a letter head as PnP only support charity organizations and not individuals. and although I was severely bummed out at the time I now realize that real change comes from the actions of ordinary people such as you and I so I am asking you to spread the word about Virginia’s Sandwich Run and donate if you can. Do you fail at everything you do because you give up the first time you hear a no?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360
