Day 2912: The Line Between Good and Evil

“The line between good and evil lies in the heart of every human being.” -Ian Howarth

It’s 2 : 07 PM on day 2912 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and do some work

Today at church we were taught to examine our own hearts instead of always judging other people’s sins and I thought it was  perfect sermon for today’s time because all of us are so quick to point out the speck in other people’s eyes while ignoring the planks in our own. The line between good and evil lies in the heart of every human being – so true!

Day 2773: Why I Believe both Well-Intentioned and Evil-Intentioned People Are Both Responsible for the Current State of the World

If it’s good do it and if it’s bad don’t do it– that’s I believe is one of the most important lessons the Bible tries to teach us.

It’s 9: 31 AM on day 2773 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Proverbs 11  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  raised  $14 409 only $4 341 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Recently it occurred to me that most people with good intention are too busy thinking about things and praying about things (I have nothing against praying I pray A LOT but I don’t pray about whether I should do a good thing or not because I know if it’s good God wants me to do it) and not actually doing anything while the people with evil intentions are doing a lot and causing suffering in the process I wish well-intentioned people would have the courage to do more and evil-intentioned people the empathy to do less.

Day 2554: What is Evil?

“Evil is corrupted goodness” – Mervyn Griffith

It’s 12 : 27  PM on day 2554 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read 1 Thessalonians 1:3  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $3 452 only $9 048 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Yesterday at church I heard Mervyn Griffith say evil is corrupted goodness I’d never heard it put like that before but it even makes common sense all of us were created for good but things happen to some of us along the way that corrupts our goodness.

Day 1888: To Paris With Love From South Africa

There is a small percentage of the world’s population that is the definition of evil– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s  12 :  17  PM on day 1898 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing –Sentient [sen·tient] adj. Characterized by sensation and consciousness. Able to perceive or feel things: “Sentient life forms.”–  have breakfast,  work on my future project and help mom wrap Christmas presents for my current local project.

Yesterday morning I awoke to the news of the Paris Attacks needless to say I was (and still am) shocked and heartbroken I can’t wrap my head around the fact that a group of “people” came together to intentionally inflict pain on other human beings I could live to be a thousand and I still won’t understand. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the people of Paris please know that you are not alone the world mourns with you and strongly condemns these barbaric acts of violence.

Also to the people of Syria and Lebanon please know that your suffering is not forgotten I hope and I pray that one day all who are from Syria and Lebanon can return home and live in peace.

Day 584

There has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it. ~
Buddha

It’s 5: 28 PM on day 584 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, sleep – I woke up 4 AM in severe digestive discomfort – feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, work, prepare and  publish my Disability of the Day feature, try new things with this blog – create apps that sort of thing (I exercised my right hand while doing all of this) – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watch TV and exercise my legs.

Yesterday South Africans woke up to the claim that a group of Soweto youths had filmed themselves raping a 17-year-old girl believed to be cognitively impaired I only heard about it on the evening news saying I was outraged would be an understatement it’s not evil enough that they raped the poor girl they also filmed it now that despicable video is up online for all to watch I just don’t know what to say anymore which is shocking considering I am seldom lost for words. Do you know the difference between good and evil because of all the evil that is in the world?

Day 231

When you fight fire with fire someone will get burned – that’s what I learned today

It’s 9: 41 PM on day 231 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a banana for breakfast, continue reading A Purloined Life – the first of two books in Stella Cameron‘s Charmed – backup all my files – my laptop was making funny noises and I thought it better to be safe than sorry LOL 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck – watch TV, feed myself Batura – deep fried bread – for dinner and tweet about my campaign some more – still no luck 🙁

Today as I heard of all the killings going on in the world via the seven o’ clock news I realized that evil was a cycle and that the only way to break it was to refuse to retaliate against our enemies. Are you burning your house down to kill a rat?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://www.twitter.com/nisha360
