Day 2598: Expectation and Disappointment

Expectation is the root of all disappointment – that’s what I know.

It’s 12: 03   PM on day 2598 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  Galatians 5:24, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Simon Magid donated $25  which brings the total raised to  $4 388 only $8 112 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today I was reminded that expectation is the root of all disappointment so I’ve just resolved not to have expectations of any situation or any person out of my control – it is better this way it saves me a lot of heartache.

Day 2547: The Dust of my Dreams

The dust of my dreams will be the foundation of my life– that’s what I’m determined of.

It’s 12 : 41 PM on day 2547 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 128:1-2, have breakfast  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – I donated $11.78 (t’s the money i was going to use to buy Freedom Child by The Script but that can wait treating clubfoot is more important).which brings the total raised to $3 302 only $9 198 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Recently I’ve been hit with a series of disappointments but I push forward determined that the dust of my dreams will be the foundation of my life.

Day 2523: Hope and South Africa

Hope is essential to life and living – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11 : 37 AM on day 2523 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 119:28,  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $2 875 only $9 625 more to raise  by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Recently I’ve look at the state of my country and felt deeply disappointed but I still have hope for a better day if only because citizens like myself are standing up and speaking out about issues that are of concern to us (feeling disappointed sometimes is okay but it’s not okay to throw your hands in the air and quit rather stand up, speak out and do something no matter how little that something may be).

Day 2424: Turn Your Disappointment Into Something Awesome

Take your disappointment and turn it into something awesome – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 10 : 13 AM on day 2424 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read Revelation 4:8, and learn a new word – Definitions for coruscant
sparkling or gleaming; scintillating; coruscating.

Yesterday I wanted something and I did not get it but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me because I took my disappointment and turned it into something better than what I originally wanted.

Day 2268: Because God Has Something Better in Mind

When you don’t get what you want believe God has something better in mind – that’s my message to the world.

it’s 11: 13 AM on day 2268 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   read Colossians 3:17 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I realized that something I really want to do was likely not going to happen I cried about it for a long while (I hardly ever cry unless I’m in physical pain or discomfort) but now I’m choosing to believe if I don’t get what I want it’s because God has something better in mind.

Day 1277: Dealing with disappointment

Sometimes things don’t work out the way you thought they would that’s life you’ve got to get over it– that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12  : 58  PM on day 1277 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  pray, read Job 11, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – nobody donated so far today but I’m working on it and if worse comes to worst I’ll back me and be donor number 17 I’m not a millionaire by any means but I’ll give what I can – practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles and stretch my hamstrings.

Yesterday I was informed that something I thought would eventually happen was in fact not going to happen I was disappointed but that’s life sometimes things don’t work out the way you thought they would you’ve got to get over it. Do you have a hard time getting over disappointment?

Day 282

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. – Sir Winston Churchill

It’s 7: 47 PM on day 282 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself French fries and a mango sandwich for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – eleven days and counting without a donation – watch TV, tweet about my campaign – no luck –  feed myself rice and curry for lunch, email Salt & Necter – I figured since they wrote about Oprah’s final show they would be willing to write about someone who was inspired by Oprah 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for dinner, watch some more TV and brush my teeth once more.

Two days ago I received an email in response to my sponsorship request (if you have no idea what I’m talking about refer ‘Day 277’) and it read in part Please may you send through a formal letter with a letter head as PnP only support charity organizations and not individuals. and although I was severely bummed out at the time I now realize that real change comes from the actions of ordinary people such as you and I so I am asking you to spread the word about Virginia’s Sandwich Run and donate if you can. Do you fail at everything you do because you give up the first time you hear a no?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!

Day 183

If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we’re apart.. I’ll always be with you. – Winnie the Pooh

It’s 9: 04  PM on day 183 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast while watching the Cricket World Cup match: South Africa vs. Ireland – congratulations to The Proteas – our national cricket team – who are officially in the quarterfinals after their victory over Ireland – bring the cup back for Mr. Mandela boys I am sure he’s rooting for you 🙂 –  tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck –  feed myself rice and curry for lunch, tweet about my campaign some more –    no luck –   feed myself Chapati – an unleavened flatbread – and vegetable curry  for dinner and continue to tweet about my campaign – still no luck – I’m disappointed but it’s okay I’ll keep trying 🙂

Today I was feeling all kinds of awful my body was sore, my muscles were aching and all I wanted to do was sleep but then I remembered what Will Smith said on Oprah great people do what they do hurt and suddenly I didn’t feel so tired anymore because I could see in my mind’s eye images of children dying of cholera. On a bad day do you give up on yourself or look to harness your inner strength?
