Day 2207: Disability in Rural Areas in South Africa

The things I don’t think twice about are things other people pray for – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 : 48  AM on day 2207 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Proverbs 12:25, have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $7 675 only  $4 825 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I read The triple vulnerability of being poor and disabled in rural South Africa which made me conscious of my own privilege I’m fortunate that whenever I need to go to a doctor my parents can pay for the appointment and drive me there which sadly is not the case for most people with disabilities living in rural areas in South Africa they have to worry about distance and transportation I do hope that the solutions mentioned in the article will be implemented because truly South Africa cannot prosper if a segment of the population feels like the general population doesn’t care about them.

Day 2199: International Day of Peace

We must be peaceful within so we can offer peace to those without – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 04  PM on day 2199 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read James 4:7 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $7 675 only  $4 825 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today is the International Day of Peace and in honour of that I ask that all of us find our inner-peace so we can offer peace to those without.

Day 2195: Impossible And Me

Live as though impossible doesn’t apply to you – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 53  PM on day 2195 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Matthew 19: 25-26     and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $7 675 only  $4 825 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I realized that I strive to live as though impossible doesn’t apply to me I believe life is best when you push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Day 2178: Keep Your Peace

“Do not let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace.”― Dalai Lama XIV

It’s 12 : 25  PM on day 2178 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Genesis 12:2-3  , have breakfast, learn one new thing –The first pay phone was invented in 1889 and by 1902, there were over 81,000 pay telephones in the United States. In 1889, the first public coin telephone was installed by inventor William Gray at a bank in Hartford, Conn.-   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –    raised $7 600 only  $4 900 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

Today I realized that oftentimes in life people don’t just destroy peace we – the people whose peace is being destroyed – give them – our peace-destoyers – the power to do it which is good news because the moment each of us decides to keep our peace forevermore nobody in the world can take it away from us ever again.

Day 2176: Coincidence and God

Coincidence is God’s way of staying anonymous – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 00  PM on day 2176 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 46: 10 , have breakfast, learn one new thing –air is not a mixture because of scientists freezing it and finding different liquids, it is a mixture because the compounds that make up air e.g. oxygen (o2), Carbon dioxide (co2) and the most important Nitrogen which is an element and makes up 78.09% of air are not chemically bound in the way that compounds are …-   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –    raised $7 500 only  $5 000 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

This morning I was feeling anxious about a few things until I read Psalm 46: 10 (Be still and know that I am God) I mean what are the chances that mom would pick out exactly that verse from the box of Bible verses my sister gave me –  coincidence is God’s way of staying anonymous.

Day 2175: Say I Love You

Say the words I love you more often it won’t kill you – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 03  PM on day 2175 of my journey towards independence and I managed to   pray, have breakfast, read Revelation 1:7, learn one new thing –Although kopi luwak is a form of processing rather than a variety of coffee, it has been called the most expensive coffee in the world with retail prices reaching €550 / US$700 per kilogram.-   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – yesterday Meg donated $25   (thanks SO MUCH  Meg your ongoing support means a lot 🙂  )  which brings the total  raised to $7 500 only  $5 000 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ) .

Recently I’ve started forcing myself to say the words I love you more often it’s uncomfortable because I am not the mushy sort but since people can’t read my heart I’ll keep saying it hopefully with time it will feel less uncomfortable.

Day 2174: 10 Things I love about Catherine Constantinides

“Maybe life isn’t about avoiding the bruises. Maybe it’s about collecting the scars to prove we showed up!” – Catherine Constantinides

It’s 12 : 33  PM on day 2174 of my journey towards independence and I managed to   pray, have breakfast, read Zechariah 2:11, learn one new thing – The colour of the tongue is best described as black, blue or purple with a pink base/back. It is generally assumed that the front part of the tongue has such dark colouration to protect it during frequent sun exposure while eating and prevent the tongue from getting sunburned. –   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –  raised $7 475 only  $5 025 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

Day 2173: “Masterpiece” by Jessie J

I still fall on my face sometimes
And I can’t color inside the lines
Cause I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece
And I, I wanna hang with the greatest
Got a way to go, but it’s worth the wait
No, you haven’t seen the best of me
I’m still working on my masterpiece

Jessie J, “Masterpiece”

It’s 10 : 37  AM on day 2173 of my journey towards independence and I managed to   pray, have breakfast, read Habakkuk 3:3-4, learn one new thing – Hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal, although, depending on the species, they may be more or less active during the day. The hedgehog sleeps for a large portion of the daytime either under cover of bush, grass, rock or in a hole in the ground.-   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   raised $7 475 only  $5 025 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

A few days ago I heard “Masterpiece” by Jessie J and I just loved the empowering message of the song. Listen to “Masterpiece” below:

Day 2172: Staying True to Your Life’s Purpose

“Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I want to do every day for the rest of my life…do that.” – Gary Vaynerchuk

It’s 11: 50  AM on day 2172 of my journey towards independence and I managed to   pray, have breakfast, read Isaiah 6:3, learn one new thing – Yes, birds have knees (they’re often under the feathers and not easily visible), and they bend the same way our knees bend. The part of a bird’s legs that bends backwards when it walks is the ankle.

Recently I was reading my old Bucket List that I created in 2009 and although I didn’t meet the people I wanted to meet (Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama) I did do #1 (To raise $4 500 for The Water Project Inc through my Clean Water for All Campaign) and I am trying to do #10 (To be healthy and happy for the rest of my life)  and #11 (To be able to give every day for the rest of my life) it feels good to know that after all these years I have stayed true to my life’s purpose.

Day 2170: Love Completely

Love people with all your heart even when you know they don’t love you back as much – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 33  PM on day 2170 of my journey towards independence and I managed to   pray, have breakfast, read 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, learn one new thing – Known prey of the Megamouth Shark consists entirely of planktonic animals, including euphausiid shrimps, copepods, and the Pancake Jellyfish (Atolla vanhoeffeni). Yet most plankton is found near the surface, so it is something of a mystery how Megamouth manages to find enough to eat. –   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   raised $7 225 only  $5 275 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

Today I realized that some people don’t love me nearly as much as I love them it’s neither good, bad, right or wrong it’s just the way things are (or maybe it’s just my perception) if I didn’t love these people I would probably just call it quits but since I do I have decided to put in as much love as is necessary to keep my relationships afloat.
