Day 2284: Why Christmas is my Favourite Time of Year

Christmas is my favourite time of year because it’s the only time of year I can be as kind as I want to be without being thought of as weird – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12: 24 PM on day 2284 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Romans 12: 15 have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 261.04 only  $3 238.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized that Christmas is my favourite time of year because it’s the only time of year I can be as kind as I want to be without being thought of as weird (my kindness sort of makes sense to the world during Christmas time they assume it’s because of the time of the year, whereas at other times of the year my kindness may seem weird to some).

Day 2272: Christmas Appreciation Challenge

“The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.” – Dalai Lama

It’s 11: 20 AM on day 2272 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   read   Hosea 6:3 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Last night I challenged my friends to call at least three people who help them or love them with no expectation of gratitude and tell them how much they appreciate them and now I’m challenging all of you to do the same. Tis the season for giving and gratitude so give your love.

Day 2258: My Christmas Project

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” – Calvin Coolidge

it’s 12: 07  PM on day 2258 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Thessalonians 5:18,   work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) – and spend time with family.

Today I decided that in the lead up to Christmas I would call, message or email people who’ve had an impact on my life this year (I apologize in advance if my expression of appreciation is a bit much for some I promise i’ll make it quick and painless).

Day 1928: Merry Christmas

“Don’t let the past steal your present. This is the message of Christmas: We are never alone.” – Taylor Caldwell

It’s 1:  40 PM on day 1832 of my journey towards independence and day 24 of our India trip 2015 prayed  thing read 1 Corinthians 13 and Luke 2, had breakfast, visited my parents friends and visited some churches

Today is Christmas Day which is my favourite day of every year because unlike all the other days of the year the emphasis is on family and togetherness.   Merry Christmas everyone.

Day 1564: Merry Christmas Everyone

“The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and of generosity and of goodness. It illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than in things.” – Thomas S. Monson

It’s 10 : 49 AM on day 1564 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth,  read Isaiah 49 and John 2,   publish my Disability of the Day feature and promote my Educate Generations campaign– still on $1 255 I may ask my parents for a donation as a Christmas present but I think I would feel bad if I did because my sister and brother didn’t ask for anything this Christmas.

Today is Christmas Day – my favorite holiday – on this day may we all value the presence of our loved ones more than we value the presents under the tree. Merry Christmas everyone.

Day 1556: Procrastination and Christmas

“If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done.” ― Rita Mae Brown

As of today it’s eight days till Christmas and nothing is done the tree isn’t up and the gifts aren’t bought oh well I guess we’ll get those things done sometime before Christmas until then I’ll keep reminding myself that Christmas is about Jesus, family and giving.

Day 1540: Forgoing Christmas Gifts for the Malala Fund

Christmas is about Jesus and giving– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 21 PM on day 1540 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 25,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, promote my Educate Generations campaign– my friend, Nisa Thomas,  donated $40 today (thank you SO MUCH Nisa 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $940 only $1560  more to raise to  reach goal – feed myself egg with bread for breakfast and continue promoting my campaign – still $1560 more to raise but I’m working on it I really need more people visiting the page the more people that visit the page the higher the probability of getting more donations crowd-funding is basically telling the story of why you are doing what you’re doing and getting people to pay attention.

Yesterday I decided to forgo all my gifts this Christmas and ask my family and friends to donate to my Educate Generations campaign benefiting the Malala Fund instead so if you were planning to get me a gift don’t I am fortunate enough to have everything I need and more rather visit www.classy.org/EducateGenerations and make a donation the Malala Fund will use the money raised to educate girls in Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria and Jordan (to educate Syrian refugees).
