I had to decline but that touched my heart so – kids always make me cry for the best reasons
  • Partaking in Holy Communion – for me it’s not just an empty act after I receive the Holy Eucharist I tell myself you are now wiped clean please stay that way for as long as possible of course I never do I’m only human I curse, I lie to spare people’s feelings but the intention to be pure is definitely there
  • Talking to my cousin – she lives in Canada now with her husband and their twins so we don’t see other often but it was nice calling her on her birthday I’m happy she’s happy [note to self: call family even on non-special occasions]

Day 2780: What’s really important

When you think you might not have a life you realize what’s important in life – that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 2780 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read  1 Corinthians 1:25  have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  raised  $14 409 only $4 341 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Yesterday I realized my parents may be wondering why my need to serve has increased in intensity – almost every Saturday and every public holiday I have something on – it’s because leading up to my surgery all I thought was if the curtain falls on my life I’ve had a good run I’ve helped a lot of people that’s what I was proudest of nothing else (besides my family) mattered quite as much so I’m going to keep helping people so that when the curtain really does fall on my life I’ll have a lot more to be proud of.

Day 2767: Western Saharan refugee women use film in liberation struggle

Recently I watched a short documentary about the Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, that I think everybody should see the struggle of the Saharawi people continues to move me. Watch “Western Saharan refugee women use film in liberation struggle” below:

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” – Voltaire

It’s 1 :  46 PM on day 2749 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Matthew 6:14-15  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to B who donated $50 which brings the total raised to  $13 209 only $5 541 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Today is my 27th birthday  I’m most proud of the difference i’ve been blessed to make and the small part i’ve played in changing the narrative about differently-abled people – differently-abled people are not burdens we are gifts with gifts the world just needs to look beneath the labels. THANK YOU to those who have raised me and also to each and every one of you who support my crazy dreams. Thank you God for the gift of life HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
