Day 2834: #50NewFeet Campaign Over. THANK YOU ALL

end

Chapters end to make way for new ones – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 8 : 21 AM on day 2834 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse, have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –raised $15 219

Today marks the twelfth  month anniversary of my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet  which means my campaign ends today. 124 people made donations to this campaign and between us we’ve donated $15 219 – enough to provide clubfoot treatments for 60 kids  I am SO THANKFUL AND BLOWN AWAY by the support from groups and individuals as well.

Highlights of this campaign

  • Seenachechi asked everybody attending her daughter’s baptism to donate to my campaign instead of bringing gifts (thank you Seenachechi you inspire me to be more generous in my own life – one day I’m going to come to Australia to give you a hug [seriously I don’t know many people who would go to so much effort for someone they’ve never met in person])
  • My cousin asked ALL HER FRIENDS to donate to my campaign instead of bringing gifts to my niece Maya’s first birthday party – that party for a one-year-old changed lives (thank you Tinuchechi you are still always there to help me even from an ocean away I will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS hold that in my heart).
  • The St. Thomas Orthodox Congregation of Southern Africa, the church that I belong to, asked the congregation to bring their firstfruits to church and the vegetables were auctioned to raise $500 for my campaign (thank you to Fr. James, his wonderful wife Bernice for organizing this and to the whole congregation for their incredible support. You guys awe AWESOME)
  • OmniMed Pty (Ltd) donated $3 344 (I had emailed a friend telling her I still had $3 344 to raise to reach my goal and asked for fundraising suggestions instead I got a reply back saying she had spoken to her father and that they would be donating  the entire remaining amount [I nearly fall off my wheelchair – it reminded me of the human capacity for generosity])
