Day 2611: Take Chances

The more chances you take the luckier you will get – that’s what I know.

It’s 1 : 33   PM on day 2611 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read 1 Peter 5:6-8 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 488 only $8 012 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I did something the results of which reminded me that the more chances I take the luckier I will get (sometimes you’ve got to put yourself out there and be willing to flop so that you can maybe fly).

    Hi Nisha,
I really am shocked that you are from East London as I am as well. Someone was kind enough to forward me a link to an article about you a few days ago and thought that I have to read up on you.
I am pretty sure that it is you that I had seen once being being picked up from Hemmingways mall. You were with other youngsters and I am assuming that the one girl who helped you from your wheelchair into the car (driven by an elderly gentleman must have been your dad or an uncle) with such expertise was your sister.
My daughter is now 14 years old and also has CP and I can confidently say that she wants to be like you!!
She has no control over her hands and cannot walk, we help her with everything but she has such a beautiful fighting spirit the same like you.
We are currently raising funds for her for the laptop and software etc for her to allow her to type with her eyes and we have been looking into starting a blog and a website etc for her, but I see so much of you in her it is amazing. As a mother to a disabled child you have taught me to allow her to be herself. She is such an adrenaline junkie just like you! She too wants to go paragliding and bungee jumping etc and now I can tell her that it is possible.

Thank you for sharing your life and for showing her that there are more people like her in the world, in fact people like her in the same city!
We have only set up a page for her Facebook called Raising Amber, please have a look when you have a chance and I would love if you can give us some ideas for fundraising. Please send me an email raising.amber@gmail.com

Tell Amber i said she can do anything she wants to do (consult a doctor before doing anything) and that although i’m flattered that she wants to be like me she should always strive to be herself because there will only ever be one her in the history of humanity. My Superhero Catherine Constantinides once said “Impossible is nothing and hope is everything.” I live by that every single day and carry with me the gift of possibility that she gave me.

I appreciate your gratitude you’re very welcome
