Day 2317: A Simple Exercise For Goal-Achievement

“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” – Zig Ziglar

It’s 11: 53 AM on day 2317 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Psalm 46:1-3  and work on a few of my 2017 Goals (can’t go into details till everything is fully finalized but i can say i’m so very excited about things to come).

Recently I’ve started writing down my daily goals and posting it on my social media accounts I check on my goals occasionally throughout the day and by the end of the day I find that I’ve achieved most, if not all, of my goals for that day it’s a simple exercise that has made a big difference in my life.

    Psalm 46:1-3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

    1 God is our refuge and strength,
    A very present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
    And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
    3 Though its waters roar and foam,
    Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah.

    God does not promise that there will be no troubles and no horrors. Terrible and awesome things are foretold. Beyond the Day of the Lord when God will pour out His wrath like wine, judgement comes today upon nations and individuals and we know not when, how or upon whom. We all make mistakes with stubborn hearts and selfish designs. And the bottom drops out. Our dire situation can always get worse.

    But God can be our refuge and strength amidst our trials, pain and fears. God can be a very present help. We can pass through troubles – even cataclysmic troubles. But only if we are God’s people, a people who thank, praise, and rejoice in God. And a people who love, hear and obey God. And foremost among these requirements is to love God and our neighbor. To love God and neighbor strongly but not with a divided heart. These are the requirements of being God’s people.

    It’s not easy. Not for me. Maybe, it’s not easy for you. We will stumble and crawl upon the way. Sometimes, we will grope blindly for God. But God promises if we search for Him, we will find him. And finding God, we will find our refuge, strength and a very present help in trouble.
