Day 1460: “Nervous Girls” by Lucy Hale

I’m that girl you think that’s got it figured out.

But I walk around, with a head full of doubt.

The cruelest words about me, come from my own mouth – la da de, la de da.

Yeah, I’m that girl, who wants what I ain’t got who looks in the mirror, and sees all that I’m not.

Wish I could jump off this reckless train of thought – la da de, la de da.

Well it’s a cruel, cruel world.

Lucy Hale, “Nervous Girls”

It’s 1 : 03 PM on day 1460 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, go back to bed, pray, read Psalm 148,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,  stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, feed myself boiled egg and a banana  for breakfast, watch Angelina Jolie’s visits with the UNHCR – those of you who’ve been reading this blog for a while know that I’m not  a celebrity-obsessed person but I would follow Angelina Jolie anywhere this woman has 6 kids, a husband and a successful career and she still makes time to visit refugees all over the world I would like to meet her just to say thank you I know that people who do good things don’t do it for the thank you but still it’s nice to know people notice 🙂 – and make sandwiches for our sisi’s (housekeeper’s) neighborhood with sisi’s help as part of  Virginia’s Sandwich Run -thank you sisi for all your help  and thank you to Madalina who donated $15 to Virginia’s Sandwich Run I will forward the money to my dad then he will give me the South African equivalent (R164.75) which will be used to buy margarine and two loaves of bread every week.

Yesterday morning I heard “Nervous Girls” by Lucy Hale it’s a song about the time in a woman’s life when she’s nervous and awkward and full of self-doubt what I loved about the song was that it was so relatable. Listen to “Nervous Girls” by Lucy Hale below:
