Day 1224: Putting religion into practice

Religion not practiced is like a light bulb without electricity– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 1  : 17 PM on day 1224 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray, brush my teeth,  read 2 Chronicles 27,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,  publish my Kid of the Week feature,    feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, go to church – our reverend said something I’ll never forget he said our vocation as God’s people is to be His people wherever we find ourselves  – and continue reading To Kill A Mockingbird.

This morning my mom was watching a preacher on TV preach and I was listening the preacher said in not so many words that the problem with Christians today is that we don’t practice Christianity outside of the church I couldn’t agree more if all of us practiced in the real world what we are taught in our places of worship the world would be a much better place. Are you like a light bulb without electricity belonging to a religion but failing to put it into practice?
