Day 983: Perseverance

Perseverance in the most underrated quality any person can have – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s  5 : 13  PM on day 983 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Numbers 36, stretch my hamstrings,  take off a dirty  jacket and put on a clean one , practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,   tweet and Facebook about my campaign – nobody from Twitter or Facebook donated so I asked my mom to make a donation she did and now I’m $25 closer to my goal my motto in life is if what you’re doing isn’t working do something different 🙂 –  feed myself a sandwich for lunch,  continue reading  Conversations with Myself by Nelson Mandela and practice typing with both hands.

This morning it took me three attempts to get the zipper of my jacket on every time I would snap the zipper in place and try to pull it up it would snap out of place again but every time it did I tried again and again and again until the third time when I snapped it in place and asked our housekeeper to help me pull it up so it wouldn’t snap out of place again when I do something I sort of make a decision that I’m going to do it until I get it done that’s where I think most people go wrong if they don’t reach their goal within a month or a year or two years they quit without realizing quitting is a sure way to guarantee failure.  What you lack in everything else do you make up for in perseverance?
