Day 723

What we need in today’s world is less hype and more dialogue – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 2 : 09 PM on day 723 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, feed myself  bread and baked beans for breakfast, drink coffee by myself, practice typing with both hands some more and exercise my legs while watching TV – my hamstrings need to stretched every day to keep from getting shorter it sucks but a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do 🙂

Yesterday was a great day for Cerebral Palsy bloggers were linking up to other bloggers who were blogging about World  Cerebral Palsy Day, people were tweeting and Facebooking Cerebral Palsy facts, making videos… you name it, it was being done which was great but people being people next week it will be World Something Else Day and people will forget about World Cerebral Palsy Day I wish people would use days like yesterday to start  a dialogue  about what all of us can do to make the world a better place for people who are different engineers, for example, could work on making bigger aeroplane bathrooms last year I went to India with my family and had to wait till we stopped somewhere to go to the bathroom because the aeroplane bathrooms were too small for both my mom and I to fit in at the same time (I needed to be taken to the bathroom). Do you forget about something that was in the forefront of your mind as soon as the hype dies down?
